Our History
Since 1989, Advanced Lifeline Respiratory Services has been the industry leader in the provision of high-quality, comprehensive respiratory care in the long-term care setting.
Our company founders started Advanced Lifeline Services, Inc. after recognizing a critical need for on-going, skilled respiratory care for ventilator patients who had been discharged from the hospital. While these patients no longer needed acute care, they still required continued respiratory therapy managed by trained providers who could set goals for their care and help them achieve positive health outcomes.
ALRS began by partnering with skilled nursing facilities to establish on-site ventilator units managed by the company’s experienced respiratory therapists. We provide these facilities with not only necessary clinical personnel, but also state-of-the-art respiratory tools and equipment, making it easy for them to care for patients with complex respiratory needs. The company has since added a pulmonary rehabilitation service, which assists patients with an even wider variety of respiratory care issues.
Our company, now known as Advanced Lifeline Respiratory Services, believes that patients should receive the high-quality respiratory care they deserve from experienced providers who treat them like family. And more than 30 years later, at ALRS, it’s not just our standard of care that’s made us the leader in our field – it’s our standard of caring. See what you can expect as a patient.

Julie Hinson
Few companies can say they’ve been leading the respiratory care industry for more than three decades. Even fewer can say the same about their leadership.
Julie Hinson, President and CEO of Advanced Lifeline Respiratory Services (ALRS), has been part of the ALRS team since it began in 1989.
She was the company’s second employee, serving first as Director of Marketing and later as Vice President of Marketing while learning the business from the ground up from its founders, William M. Selvidge, MD and Ronald Linkes. After years of dedicated service, she was named President of ALRS in 2005, and in 2010 she added the title of President and CEO of ALRS and its Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).
Today she directly oversees all company operations. Intensely focused on making sure ALRS meets the needs of its clients, she also personally manages the company’s relationships with all its partners.
Julie considers her team and the patients they serve to be her family, and she takes special pride in supporting the more than 200 ALRS employees who provide high-quality respiratory care to patients across the country each day.
A native of Owensboro, KY, Julie earned a B.A. in Public Relations, minoring in Business, from Western Kentucky University in 1990.
