- It’s a slower-paced environment with a more consistent work schedule
- You’ll get to work with a wide variety of patients, from those with chronic conditions to trauma patients
- You’ll work as a team with other trained clinicians and professionals and take the lead on all respiratory care issues
I’ve been with ALRS for nine years, and I think it’s a wonderful company that provides a great service and treats their employees very well. I give it an A+.
We work in small teams and there’s very little turnover, so you start to feel like a family – you’re not just a number. You stay with the same patients over long periods of time, so you really get to know them and their daily routines. And ALRS takes really good care of their employees – the pay is better than working in the hospital, their 401k match is generous, and the ESOP provides additional benefits after your leave the company.
I was so lucky to get hired by ALRS right after I graduated from school. This company always seems to pleasantly surprise me.

I feel like my training is put to good use every single day in the skilled nursing facility. I’m part of a great team of clinicians, but when it comes to developing a respiratory plan of care, I’m the person everyone looks to. Helping my patients wean off the ventilator is a challenge and it takes all my skill and knowledge. But it’s a great feeling to hear them talk for the first time.

A few years ago, after I completed my MBA, I decided I wanted to change careers and work in Human Resources. ALRS gave me that opportunity.
One thing I like the most about ALRS is that we’re a small company, so I know every day that I’m contributing and my voice is being heard. If I have an idea or a question, it’s not hard to find someone who’ll listen.
We have some employees who’ve just recently graduated from school and others who’ve been with us for 25 years or more – but we value each of our employees equally, regardless of their level of experience. The newest employees may have a fresh perspective or new knowledge to share with our most tenured employees, and we want to foster their talents and use them to coach and mentor each other. At ALRS, our culture is all about providing different learning opportunities.

Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)
ALRS is an employee-owned company. That means employees have an ownership stake in the company and a vested interest in its success.
An Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) is similar to a retirement plan. Each year, the company makes investments of stock or cash into the ESOP on behalf of each employee-owner. Once an employee leaves the company, vested funds in the employee’s ESOP account will be distributed to her or him according to the plan’s policies.
